The AI Dispatch #32 - On AI Raises, Nano Banana, Shared Computing
Welcome to another edition of our dispatch!
We hope you enjoyed some relaxation away from the chart. Unfortunately, the market is not treating us exactly well...
This week we have no guest posts or market update (as the situation is mostly a repeat of the previous week).
Instead, we bring you a mix of new and interesting projects you might want to check out, along with some great resources to help you stay up-to-date with everything happening in the sector.
The best opportunities are when no one is looking at the market.
Your Weekly Dose of AI
We start this week by highlighting @comput3ai, a distributed network where users can share their computing power and earn passive income. On the other hand, projects don't need to spend significant capital; instead, they can train LLMs through community-powered computing.
Up to this date, Comput3 has over 8k active GPUs across 6 different models, and over $2.4m in rewards distributed:
Another project we're watching closely is @Everlyn_ai, which recently announced its $15m raise at a $250m valuation.
Everlyn is an AI model specifically trained to generate and render videos, which are then posted onchain.
The model support both image-to-video, text-to-video, and text-to-image uploads.
Curious what people are doing with it?
Check https://www.everlyn.ai/
Everlyn is not an isolated case, as AI fundraising has been shadowing crypto and other verticals.
Here’s another @cot_research piece on @Sierra, which previously raised over 225m, basically a 225x revenue multiple
Sierra is powered by AgentOS, an AI operating system for enterprise-grade agents.
Honestly @0xPrismatic never stops shipping. A great way to keep up with everything happening in AI to listen to this podcast.
Here’s also this week’s thread on verifiable AI:
Also wouldn't be an AI dispatch without some @virtuals_io update. Among those, this week @Replicatsai announced that it has joined the Circle Alliance Program, highlighting the need for proper (institutional-grade, depending on the use case) infrastructure for AI.
What else is going on in the Virtuals Ecosystem?
In other news, the Web2 AI this week has been taken by storm by the new Google AI, Nano Banana.
Here are just some of the most interesting skills and creations:
Some Web3 AI studios such as @avastudio_ were quick to integrate its capabilities as part of their stack:
We also want to highlight @a16z thesis on AI agent workers:
Last but not least, while the overall sector has not been exactly performing well, it's good to see some AI projects among the main gainers of the week:
That's all for this week!
If this edition seems smaller than usual, just know it's all @francescoweb3's fault and that this newsletter is NOT written by/ with the use of AI 😜
